Welcome letter from the LIA Athletics Director
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Welcome to the 2026–2027 athletic season! On behalf of the LIA Athletics Department, I am delighted to welcome both new and returning families to another exciting year of competition, personal growth, and school pride.
At LIA, athletics is an extension of the educational experience. While we are committed to excellence in competition, our greatest achievement is developing student-athletes who embody Catholic values and demonstrate integrity, resilience, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Every practice, game, and tournament is an opportunity to build character and leadership that will last a lifetime.
The dedication of our student-athletes and coaches has led to four consecutive years of AASCA and local championships, and we look forward to continuing that tradition of excellence during the 2026–2027 season.
Participation in athletics is a privilege that carries important responsibilities. Each season, nearly 50% of our student body joins our athletics program to compete in soccer, volleyball, swimming, track and field, gymnastics, and basketball. In return, student-athletes are expected to maintain strong academic performance, demonstrate exemplary behavior, attend all practices and competitions, and represent LIA with integrity, respect, and excellence both on and off campus.
Parents and guardians are essential partners in this journey. Your encouragement, positive sportsmanship, and support help create an environment where our students can thrive and enjoy a meaningful athletic experience.
Throughout the year, important information regarding schedules, transportation, eligibility, tournaments, and special events will be shared through our official school communication channels.
Thank you for your trust and continued support. Together, we will provide our student-athletes with experiences that extend far beyond competition facilities.
Many blessings to you and your families and may you all have a healthy, successful, and rewarding school year.
Go Hawks!
Sincerely,
Pierre F. Roberts
