College Advising

Dear LIA Families,

At Lincoln International Academy, we understand college admissions can be exciting yet overwhelming. We support students and families with personalized guidance, resources, and encouragement as students explore academic and career paths. Our counseling program is individualized, comprehensive, and student-centered, helping students make informed decisions based on their interests, strengths, and aspirations. Whether exploring careers or preparing college applications, we guide them throughout.

We believe a successful college journey relies on a strong partnership between students, families, and the school. Parents are encouraged to participate in meetings, college fairs, and informational sessions to support students' goals. LIA hosts global college reps, enabling students to attend university presentations, fairs, and sessions—virtual or in-person—to learn about programs, campus life, and admissions. Juniors and seniors are especially encouraged to participate.

As an international school, LIA provides guidance to students applying to universities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Latin America, and around the world. Students can meet with the College Counselor at any time to discuss goals, ask questions, and explore postsecondary options.

Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing college and career planning tools available through MaiaLearning.

  • Creating a personalized and balanced college list based on each student's interests, strengths, and goals.

  • Guiding and monitoring the entire college application process.

  • Reviewing college essays and personal statements.

  • Assisting with activity lists and résumé development.

  • Supporting students with recommendation letter requests.

  • Helping students navigate application platforms, including the Common App and other university-specific application systems.

  • Assisting with scholarship applications and financial planning resources.

  • Providing interview preparation.

  • Offering the College Admission Senior Advisory (CASA) course during senior year.

LIA students have been admitted worldwide, including in the US, Canada, Europe, and Latin America, reflecting their diverse aspirations and accomplishments. Our mission is to help each student find a meaningful path, not just university admission but a place to thrive academically, personally, and professionally. We aim to make students confident, prepared, and empowered as they advance to their future.

Sincerely,

Ms. Claudia Zamora
