Thursday, August 6, 2009 Dear LIA Parents, Welcome to the 2009-2010 Academic Year at Lincoln International Academy of the Holy Family. We thank God for the blessings He gave all of our families last year and we ask you to join us as we pray for a great new academic year. As part of LIA´s ongoing School Strategic Plan (SSP 2008-2011) and now as a SACS accredited school, the administrative Team at Lincoln is focused on improving the school systems to provide a solid foundation for continuous improvement of the following practices: a) Improve quality of the teaching process focused on student learning, b) Support the school`s vision and purpose through effective leadership, c) Provide quality information to all stake holders, d) Enforce Policies and Practices that foster and sustain improvement, and e) Use resources and support systems to sustain LIA´s goals for student learning. To be able to accomplish the above, this year´s School Improvement Plan (SIP 2009-2010) includes six goals in order to Improve Student Learning and School Effectiveness: 1. With regards to student performance data: a) Complete efforts began last year to formalize the mechanisms for the collection, analysis, utilization and dissemination of student performance data. b) Identifying specific expectations for student performance along with appropriate metrics for assessing that performance. 2. Increase the use of instructional technology available to teachers and students in order to ensure comprehensive integration into the curriculum. 3. Encourage and support a child centered approach in all classrooms. 4. Enforce the relationship between parents and the school through the implementation of the Voluntary Parent Participation program. 5. Engage an integral catholic-based education through a strong strategic virtue plan program in all areas of the school. 6. Act upon the SACS QAR Team recommendations. LIA´s Administrative Team guides and assists the faculty in order to provide all students with the necessary educational, religious, and moral values required to provide an integral for our students. We strive to support that each student becomes the best person he or she can be and to be able to accomplish all these, we will be expecting all your support. May God inspire and guide all of us this 2009-2010 academic year! Sincerely,
Adolfo J. Gonzalez
